Ease of use is at the heart of our design principles, this is why almost all of our models are electric start, with some having pushbutton and remote starting functions for further convenience.
The superior quality alternators in all GT Power generators provide exceptional quality power, with all conventional generators offering less than 5% THD and all inverters offering perfect pure sinewave power. THD stands for “Total Harmonic Distortion” and is a measurement of the quality of power. Typical mains power has a THD of less than 5%, high THD levels are an unseen “appliance killer” and is something to be cautious of. Generally, if THD levels are not advertised, it can safely be assumed that this is because they are much greater than 5%, which can be a detrimental factor for a generator leading to poor performance and damage to electronics. In lesser quality generators, it is common for THD levels to be up around 15%, with some bargain basement models reaching up to 25%!
